Calling all high school students who live or attend school in Arlington! The Treasurer’s Office is now accepting student submissions for the 14th Annual Decal Design Competition. The winning design will appear on the 2018-19 decal that will be displayed on more than 160,000 vehicles registered in Arlington. This is a fantastic opportunity for high school students to use their creative skills while participating in the workings of local government.
The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 17, 2017!
A citizens’ panel will meet on Saturday, December 2, to narrow the entries to four finalists. Beginning December 7, residents will be able to vote for their favorite design online. Voting will remain open until midnight Monday, January 15, 2018. The County Board will announce the winner at the January or February Board meeting, at which the Arlington Community Federal Credit Union will award prize money to the winner ($750) and to the three other finalists ($500 each). The finalists’ pieces will be exhibited in the main branch of the Arlington Community Federal Credit Union in December and January. For more information, please read the press release.
